Personal Statement

Lauren Antler, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College, and an Assistant Attending Psychiatrist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. As an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College, she supervises fellows in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Department, providing guidance on psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions. In additional to her academic responsibilities, she maintains a faculty practice treating children, adolescents and adults.      

Dr. Antler specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of psychiatric disorders. With expertise in both psychopharmacology and a wide range of psychotherapeutic techniques, Dr. Antler draws on her unique background as an educator, and work with children and families in educational, recreational and medical settings, to provide compassionate, holistic treatment for a wide range of conditions.      

Using a developmental lens, and drawing on her pharmacologic and therapeutic expertise, Dr. Antler aims to partner with patients and families to provide individualized treatment plans to help children, adolescents and adult patients reach their fullest potential.

Biographical Info

Dr. Antler graduated from Brown University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in history. After college, she joined Teach for America, and taught elementary school in the Mississippi Delta for two years. In addition to her teaching experience in Mississippi, she also taught kindergarten at a public charter school in Brooklyn for several years. Dr. Antler’s commitment to bettering the lives of children and families led her to pursue a career in medicine. She went on to receive her M.D. from NYU School of Medicine. She completed her residency training in adult psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital / Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ. Dr. Antler’s passion for working with children, adolescents and families led her to pursue a fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital’s combined program of Columbia and Cornell Universities, where she served as one of the chief residents during her final year of fellowship training.      

Dr. Antler welcomes new patients into her practice. She is available for diagnostic consultations, medication management, and psychotherapy with children, teenagers, adults and their families.
